Why a blog?
Production planners work with orders, available equipment, shifts, and rules that change as the week progresses. This blog will explore how manufacturing teams can use that information to schedule, optimize, and re-optimize production.
What to expect
We plan to cover the questions teams ask when evaluating production scheduling:
- What information is useful for an initial planning diagnostic?
- How can a team start with its existing Excel or CSV files and keep its ERP?
- How should a team establish a baseline and measure planning results?
We’ll also explain the technology behind Lucie. Constraint programming is an approach to optimization: it models production rules so the scheduling engine can search for a plan within them. Conversational AI helps people express requests and understand proposed changes; planners review and approve plans before they are applied.
Any examples in these guides will be identified as educational examples. Customer stories and results will be published only with supporting evidence and permission.
